Abstract
1321033 Sintered boron nitride C CONRADTY 20 March 1972 [7 May 1971] 12816/72 Heading C7D A mixture of 95-50 per cent wt. BN and 5- 50 per cent wt. aluminium phosphate and solubulizer e.g. water, is cold pressed at 1-10 t/sq.cm., dried at upto 200‹C. and then sintered at 1000- 1500‹C. under a cover of BN. The phosphate is preferably mono-aluminium phosate and the mixture may be extruded. The sintered bodies may be used as tiles, boats, ingot moulds, linings and insulators for liquid metals and nozzles and linings for combustion chambers.
