Abstract

1320217 Antiskid braking systems TOYOTA JIDOSHA KOGYO KK 17 Sept 1970 [12 Nov 1969] 44470/70 Heading F2F An antiskid braking system includes a first adder 1 for comparing a value obtained by multiplying, through a slip factor setting means, the output of a vehicle speed detecting means by a coefficient smaller than unity and the output of a wheel peripheral speed detector; a second adder 2 for comparing the output of a parallel combination of an integrator and a phase-lead compensating element, which are connected to the output terminal of the first adder, and an output proportional to wheel braking pressure; and an electro-hydraulic driving element connected to the output terminal of the second adder and controlled by the output of the second adder to effect a predictive control to maintain the slip factor of the wheels constant. The slip factor setting means multiplies the vehicle speed V by a constant #c (1- -) where #c is the predetermined slip 100 factor giving the desired adhesion and the first #c adder is a comparator comparing (1 - -) v. 100 and the wheel peripheral speed. The wheel braking pressure output signal is obtained by means of a pressure-responsive potentiometer.
