Abstract
1508688 Antiskid systems DAIMLERBENZ AG 18 Sept 1975 [3 Oct 1974] 38418/75 Heading F2F Apparatus for regulating braking force on the wheels of a vehicle wherein the braking moment applied to a wheel is varied according to a function of both wheel slip and master cylinder pressure. Wheel slip # is computed from vehicle velocity ox and wheel speed #, the latter being measured by a sensor 11 on wheel 10, according to the formula where R is the dynamic tyre radius. The wheel slip signal # is fed to a memory 14 which outputs a signal f(#), having a value between fixed values # and 1À0, to a multiplier 15 which also receives a signal corresponding to pressure P H in master cylinder 6. The multiplier 15 thus outputs a desired brake cylinder pressure signal P R des(=f(#).P H ) which is compared at comparator 16 with the actual brake cylinder pressure P R act resulting in regulation of the supply pressure to the brake cylinder 9 from master cylinder 6 by regulator 17. The signal f(#) varies with # as set out below according to where lies in relation to threshold slip values # a and # b 0#### a : f(#)=1 # a #### b : f(#) decreases linearly from 1À0 at #=# a to # at #=# b # b ###1: f(#)=# # a and # b are predetermined according to the stipulation that, at the point of intersection of the curve of braking moment (proportional to P R ) M B with slip with the curve of transmissible torque between wheel and road (see Fig. 2). In a second embodiment the values of # a and # b vary with steering angle # L .
