Abstract

1319716 Automatic train control SOC TECHNIQUE POUR L'INDUSTRIE NOUVELLE SA 9 June 1971 [17 June 1970] 19617/71 Heading B7N Train control signals for vehicle 180 are applied via track circuit 160 and pick up coils 181 from switching circuits 12, 13 which act to modulate the phase of the A.C. signal on line 11 under the control of the train control signals from unit 15. Positive control signals have no effect on the phase of the A.C. voltage, but negative control signals reverse the phase of the voltage for their duration, the switching occurring as the voltage passes through its zero value. On the vehicle the received signal is applied to two channels, in the first of which it is rectified to produce a signal at twice the frequency of the A.C. signal which is then divided by two to reproduce the original A.C. signal. This latter signal is then compared in a phase comparator with the received signal in the second channel to reproduce the train control signal.
