Abstract

1319594 Separable hinges HOPWOOD KAY-HOPWOOD Ltd 14 Sept 1970 [30 July 1969] 38245/69 Heading E2F A separable hinge comprises a pin 15 connected to a first member 31 and at least three claws 17 flexibly connected to a second member 30, the claws having part cylindrical inner surfaces corresponding to the pin's 15 radius, and at least one claw is arranged axially between and on the opposite side of. the axis of the cylindrical surfaces to at least two other claws. As the members 30, 31 are moved towards or away from each other, the claws 17 flex radially to engage (as shown) or disengage the pin 15. The pin may be mounted between two struts 16 and may have parts 27 of reduced diameter. The hinge may be of a synthetic plastics material, e.g. nylon or polypropylene. The members may be panels.
