Abstract

1313277 Multiple joint M VIVOLI 13 Jan 1972 [13 July 1971] 1582/72 Heading E2F [Also in Division G5] A multiple joint comprises two substantially identical hemispherical parts 3 which are fixed together by nut and bolt 9, 8 and a ball member 4 integral with each part 3 about which substantially identical hollow hemispherical members 10 are secured by screws through diametrically opposed lugs 21. The members 3 can move with respect to each other about the axis of bolt 8 and the members 10 can move about the axis of the collar 5 which is gripped by cutaways 11; being held in any position by tightening the nut and bolt and the screws holding each pair of members 10 together. The components of the joint can be formed from synthetic plastics material e.g. nylon and additional lugs 13 enable the joint to be connected to the components between which it is to operate. A hole 22 in each ball allows communication with a hollow centre of the two parts 3 and cutaways 23 in the members 10 are in alignment with each hole.
