Abstract

1319001 Stereo system with reverberation SONY CORP 30 April 1971 [30 April 1970] 12555/71 Heading H4R Reverberation system comprises a sound passage 18 having a loud-speaker 19 feeding sound signals therealong and with a number of microphones 20, 21, 22 arranged therealong to pick up the sound signals after different delays, with a feedback circuit 34 feeding a portion of the output from the microphones back to the loud-speaker. As shown, the reverberation system is fed with the difference signal from two stereo channels 3a, 4a, and the output from the reverberation system feeds two separate loudspeakers Sp3, Sp4, arranged behind the listener in an otherwise conventional stereophonic system to provide a 4 channel stereophonic effect. The sound channel may comprise a folded pipe, Fig. 5 (not shown).
