Abstract

1318840 Valves MESSER GRIESHEIM GmbH 17 Sept 1971 [18 Sept 1970] 43453/71 Heading F2V In a valve for welding torches a spring- loaded valve tappet 14 is moved relative to a seat 13 by a handle 25 which is screwed on to the casing. The axial motion of the handle is conveyed to the tappet via a ball 23 which is held in a conical recess 26 of the handle. The head 16 of the tappet can move laterally in the housing bore 19 to ensure correct seating of its lower conical part 15 and is sealed by 0-ring 18. A flange 30 prevents the tappet from flying out on unintentional removal of the handle. A cage 34 may hold the ball in the recess 26. A knife-edge 11 and a P.T.F.E. seal 8 seal the valve housing in the recess 2 of the torch 1. (For Figure see next column)
