Abstract

1318358 Pneumatic yarn feeding nozzles RHONE-POULENC-TEXTILE 5 Aug 1970 [7 Aug 1969] 37741/70 Heading D1F Apparatus for the transfer of textile yarns from a first treatment device to a second treatment device includes a fixed pneumatic nozzle having a guide conduit 11 extending towards the second treatment device, the nozzle including at least one yarn guide passage 20, a cylindrical guide surface e.g. pin 23, disposed adjacent to and in tangential relationship with the upstream end of the passage 20, and a slot having a first portion 15 parallel to the axis of passage 20 and communicating the passage with the exterior of the nozzle body and a second portion extending tranversely to the first portion and opening to the exterior of the nozzle body for allowing access of a suction gun during threading. In a preferred embodiment filaments from a spinneret are grouped to form two yarns which are first drawn and then led through the nozzle to be fed to an oiling or finishing device. Air is fed to the two L-shaped yarn passages 15 tangentially by passages 17 leading from a chamber 19 connected to air supply pipe 18. The yarns and air are conveyed through the nozzle in conduits 20 which communicate with the guide conduit 11. In this embodiment, the conduit 11 comprises two cylindrical tubes leading from the conduits 20 to a common divergent portion upstream of the second treatment device. The nozzle is preferably associated with two waste aspiration devices connected upstream of the inlet of the nozzle and at the outlet end of the conduit 11. A pneumatic gun may be positioned at 16 to aid the initial engagement of the yarns in the nozzle.
