Abstract
1318180 Permutation locks LIPS' SLOTENFABRIEKEN NV 10 Dec 1971 57571/71 Heading E2A A permutation lock comprises an assembly of discs (e.g. three), 4, Fig. 1, rotatably mounted on a hollow shaft 45 and rotated successively to align their recesses 1, 2, 3, by a knob 7 via a spindle 6, a driver 9 mounted on the spindle, a driving pin 11 and slidable cams 12 (one only shown) associated with the discs; in the locking position of the lock bolt 15, Fig. 2, the recesses 1, 2, 3, when aligned, lie under the pin 13 of a lock bolt lever 14 pivoted at 25, Fig. 3, to the lock bolt 15 and held up by location of its hook-shaped end 16 on the periphery of driver 9; when the driver 9 is rotated by knob 7 until hook 16 drops into recess 10, and knob 7 is further rotated appropriately, recess 10 entrains hook 16 to withdraw bolt 15 via lever 14; further recesses 3a, 3b are provided in at least one of the discs which will enable the lock to be opened, but alarm elements are associated with these further recesses so that an alarm is given when the lock is so opened. An assembly somewhat as above is stated to be known: the invention is concerned with the alarm provisions. As shown, a switch lever 17, Figs. 2 and 3, is pivoted at 25, has a tooth 18, and is supported in the "bolt-out" position on pin 13 of lever 14. When recess 3 is in use, pin 13 drops into it during unlocking, and movement of bolt 15 to the left rotates the discs via lever 14. Lever 17 is also moved to the left, but is supported now by a piece 19 filling the space between the plates forming the disc, and later by a fixed strip 21, so alarm switch 20 is unaffected. If recess 3b is in use, tooth 18 drops into cavity 23 between the plates, so switch 20 is operated. Recess 3a produces the same result.
