Abstract

1317953 Boiler stacks TRUE FLUE Ltd 6 Aug 1971 [20 May 1970] 24515/70 Heading F4J A boiler stack comprises a casing formed largely of precast concrete blocks 11 with a refractory lining spaced therefrom, each block having an upper recess 12 and a lower rib 13 for interengagement with similar members on adjacent blocks and side recesses 14 defining cavities as shown with adjacent side blocks. As each course of blocks is laid shuttering 17 is disposed to close said cavities and vertical reinforcing rods are disposed therein with a reinforcing ring 18 in the annular space defined by the recesses 12. Thereupon the said cavities and annular space are filled with concrete to set in situ and the next course is laid. Essential openings into the stack are formed by replacing some of the blocks 11 by others defining said openings (20, Fig. 4, and 21, Fig. 3).
