Abstract

1317110 Treating agglomerated mineral products COLD-BOUND PELLETS AB 20 July 1971 [24 July 1970] 33905/71 Heading ClA To inhibit bursting of agglomerated mineral products during steam autoclaving by the pressure by air inside them, free nitrogen-containing gas is introduced into the autoclave at a pressure up to 3 atmospheres gauge prior to charging with steam. This gas, e.g. air or N 2 -enriched air, may have a higher temperature than that of the agglomerates. The agglomerates may be pellets. The mineral concentrates which are to be agglomerated may be mixed with 20% by volume of binding agent, e.g. slaked lime or slaked steel furnace slag.
