Abstract
1316570 Winding drum brakes CANADIAN GENERAL ELECTRIC CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [14 April 1970] 20327/71 Heading B8B [Also in Division F2] A drive wheel for a mine hoist comprises a radial flat ring 22, Fig. 3, welded to a hub 21 and to a cylindrical rim 23, annular flanges 19, 20 welded to the ends of the rim 23, a plurality of flat ribs 26, 27 angularly spaced and directed radially and axially and welded to the ring 22, rim 23 and flanges 19, 20, and tread retaining rings 28, 29 welded to the periphery of rim 23. Blocks 30 are located at spaced intervals between the rings 28, 29 and are welded to the rim 23 and rings 28, 29. The flanges 18, 19 are adapted to be engaged by brake actuators 18 Fig. 2. In a modification, a central disc (44) (Fig. 4), is reinforced by side plates (47, 48) and is clamped between flanged stubs (40, 41) by means of bolts (45).
