Abstract

1316345 Two part couplings BUNKERRAMO CORP 29 Sept 1970 [8 Oct 1969] 46367/70 Heading H2E In a tubular connector 1 two contact portions are provided, one 5 with clean resilient surfaces to make good electrical contact, and a second 2 to accept and limit the arcing which occurs when contact is made and broken. The first contact portion 5 is a tubular contact spring with a longitudinal slot 8 (Fig. 1) and several circumferential slots 9 to define spring arms 10. The second portion has diametrical slots 7 and tungsten alloy contact segments 2 which have inclined inlet surfaces 3 to receive the arcing. A tapered socket 6, 11 may be provided at the other end of the body.
