Abstract
1316314 Propellants REMINGTON ARMS CO Inc 17 Nov 1970 54703/70 Heading C1D A moulded propellent charge for use with an expendable cartridge case is made by hot moulding a mixture of a single base nitrocellulose propellant with about 1À2% by weight of a thermoplastic material which is an acrylic plastics material, polyvinyl acetate, or cellulose acetate. Unglazed nitrocellulose grains may be coated with PETN, RDX, HMX, or tetrazene and then treated with an alcohol solution of polyvinyl acetate plasticized with dibutyl phthalate, dried, heated, and moulded under pressure; alternatively a dispersion of polyvinyl acetate may be used.
