Abstract

1428876 Rocket motors; and igniters for rocket motors SOC NATIONALE DES POUDRES ET EXPLOSIFS 23 April 1974 [10 May 1973] 17717/74 Heading F3A A charge for a rocket motor, or for an igniter for a rocket motor, comprises a bundle of substantially parallel sticks of powder which are secured by penetration into a holding baseblock, the sticks being held with respect to one another at their ends opposite the holding baseblock so as to form a rigid bundle. The powder may be a single-based, double-based, or a multibased powder, e.g. comprising nitrocellulose, nitroglycerine and nitroguanidine. The sticks are held together at their ends by means of: a combustible glue; a combustible perforated plate; combustible concentric rings; or the sticks are held in direct contact after having been treated with a solvent applied to the ends of the sticks. An elastic band may surround the bundle.
