Abstract
1314918 Fuel oil TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 20 July 1971 33984/71 Addition to 1254401 Heading C5G A fuel oil blend composition with sulphur content 0À40-0À96 wt. per cent comprises (a) a major amount of high pour, waxy residual fuel oil with pour point 80-120‹ F., (b) a minor amount of low waxy, low pour residual fuel oil having a pour point below that of the high pour oil a (c) 0À01-0À5 wt. per cent oil soluble ethylene-vinyl fatty ester copolymer with MW 20,000-31,000 ester content 24-34 wt. per cent, melt index 5-28 being sufficient to depress the pour point of the blend by at least 20‹ F. The fatty acid component of the ester has from 2-6 C atoms the preferred ester being vinyl acetate and may be added in a water glycol emulsion.
