Abstract

1314602 Converting rotary motion to reciprocatory motion D T O'DELL 30 July 1971 [13 Aug 1970] 38979/70 Headings F2K and F2Q Rotation of a shaft 9 is converted into reciprocation of a rod 13 by mechanism comprising cranks 1, 4 driven in opposite directions and interconnected by a rod 3 attached to a gear-box 12 which is adapted to reciprocate along a splined shaft 10 and transmit drive to a shaft 5 carrying the crank 4. The cranks 1, 4 may be of variable throw and adjusted by lead screws. The cranks may be replaced by compound eccentrics.
