Abstract

The linkage is designed for a mechanical extrusion or stamping press and comprises a drive shaft rotating about an axis (00). The crank has a crankpin (1) with an eccentric axis (AA) and around this is a cylinder (2) co-axial with the drive shaft and in two parts for assembly purposes. The circumference (3) of this cylinder fits into a slider (4), the latter external to the rod. This enables the guides to bear over the complete length of the slide. The motion permits a longer dwell at the top of the stroke than at the bottom.
