Abstract
1313266 Magnetic switches ELETTRONICA ASTER SRL 19 April 1971 [12 Feb 1970] 21221/71 Heading H1N A rotary magnetic switch has a plurality of contact units each having a change-over contact 4 movable between fixed contacts 2, 3 and having a permanent magnet 6 secured to each contact 4 so as to be moved by a permanent magnet annulus 11 which has polarized rings as shown in Fig. 5 adjacent the poles of the magnets 6. These rings bias the movable contacts 4 into engagement with respective inner fixed contacts 2 except in the region A-A where the inner ring is interrupted and the other rings extend into the paths of the next rings to cause the adjacent contact 4 to engage fixed contact 3. The annulus 11 is mounted on a rotatable shaft in a body 1, 7 which also contains a fixed permanent magnet 8 polarized as shown in Fig. 4 and co-operating with similar polarized areas on the magnet 11 to provide an indexing and snap action movement. In an arrangement driven by a stepping motor (Figs. 6 to 9, not shown) the annular movable magnet surrounds the coil and permanent magnet of the motor and the magnetized rings are on the outer surface of the annulus with the change-over contact-units spaced around them.
