Abstract

1310309 Coating-apparatus; spray producers HAJTOMU-ES FELVONOGYAR 8 June 1970 [12 Sept 1969] 27653/70 Headings B2L and B2F [Also in Division F1] Apparatus for electrostatically coating articles with pulverent or fibrous materials comprises a storage and feeding chamber 2 secured to the bottom of a coating chamber I and provided with ducting 5, 9 for carrying the material from the chamber 2 to the spray heads 8, the spacing between nozzles 4 on air injection conduit 3 and the ducting 5, 9 being adjustable. Air passing through a pipe 3 to nozzles 4 injects material into the ducts 5. Further air nozzles 14 and baffles 15 force excess material either onto the workpiece or back to the chamber 2. The negative pole of an electric supply 13 connected to the spray heads and the positive pole 13 connected to the rail carrying the articles. The article entry and exit openings of the spray enclosure have air curtains to prevent loss of coating material. A suction pump 17 is provided to remove coating material after coating and a stirrer 7 driven by an electric motor 6 prevents coagulation of coating material.
