1310189 Plant growth medium BAYER AG 23 Dec 1971 [24 Dec 1970] 60019/71 Heading A1E A method of growing plants or seeds comprises growing them in an open celled hydrophilic foam resin such as polyurethane of density 8-50 Kg./m<SP>3</SP> and of dark or black colour. Preferably the surface of the foam is covered with a layer of synthetic resin, rubber or paraffin to reduce the evaporation of water; and the foam is used in the form of cubes or square blocks arranged in trays.
