Abstract
1318736 Plant cultivation using foam substrates BAYER AG 14 Sept 1970 [1 Oct 1969] 43788/70 Heading A1E A process for raising and cultivation of plants using foam plastics substrates as nutrient soils has a series of nestable mouldings, of a size appropriate for a particular stage of growth of the plant, each moulding being inserted into the next larger moulding as plant growth progresses. Various shapes, materials, methods of manufacture and uses are disclosed, for example cubic mouldings to hold conifer seeds may be punched from a sheet of opencell polyurethane foam, which may include additives, e.g. plant foods or pesticides.
