Abstract
1309227 Photographic plates HORIZONS RESEARCH INC 6 May 1971 [6 May 1970] 13560/71 Heading G2C A photographic plate is prepared by impregnating the pores in the surface anodized layer of aluminium or aluminium-based alloy with a solution of a silver salt (especially Ag NO 3 ) is a solvent composed of a miner proportion by volume of water and a major portion of at least one polar organic liquid with which the water is completely miscible, and then contacting the impregnated plate with an aqueous solution of at least one alkali-metal halide which has a low solubility in the organic liquid so that at least some formation of silver halide takes place in the pores. The anodized surface may be chemically oxidized and the silver salt and alkali-metal halide solutions may contain 0À01-0À03% of alkali-metal ferricyanide dichromate and/or chiomate to prevent bare spots.
