Abstract

1309082 Fluidic elements PLESSEY CO Ltd 29 May 1970 [24 June 1969] 31730/69 Heading G3H [Also in Division G4] A fluidic switch has its control port connected to an outlet duct of a device having a fluid jetproducing nozzle which is oscillated at ultrasonic frequency by a Piezo-electric transducer. The nozzle 4 is formed in a body 3. An air jet from the nozzle passes to outlet duct 6 until transducer 10 is energized, whereupon longitudinal oscillation of the nozzle causes the jet to disperse. A second duct 12 communicates with the space between the nozzle and duct 6. Either duct is connected to the control port of a fluidic switch, the other duct being open to ambient atmosphere. Suction may be produced in duct 12 if the transducer is not energized. An apertured baffle 14 may be provided. The edge of the duct 6 may be bevelled, Fig. 2 (not shown).
