1308396 Drum machine; washing machines BRUCKNER-APPARATEBAU MICHELSTADT GmbH 21 Dec 1970 [20 Jan 1970] 60476/70 Headings D1L and D1A A drum machine consists of a perforated drum 3, which contains the material to be treated, mounted in fixed drum housing 1, so that it may be rotated about its axis 2. Fluid, such as air, is supplied via channel 8 through slot 9 and is withdrawn via slot 12 and channel 11, slots 9 and 12 being offset with respect to each other and both extending over the full length of the drum. In order to encourage the treatment fluid to pass through the drum rather than around its periphery partitions 13, 14 are provided between the inlet and the outlet. When used for applying liquids the flaps 13, 14 can be pivoted to seal the slots 9, 12. Webs 21, 22 may be provided to complete the separation of inlet apertures 9 from outlet apertures 12.
