Abstract

1308003 Change-speed gear NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 21 April 1970 [14 July 1969] 29252/72 Divided out of 1308001 Heading F2D Three sun-ring-planet trains 12, 13, 14, identical or not, with two or three input clutches K1, K2, K3 and three or four brakes B1, B4, provide four, five or six forward ratios, including direct drive and one overdrive, and one reverse. The basic arrangement, Fig. 1 (not shown), comprises only the trains 12, 13, 14, interconnected as shown, drive issuing to output 11 from C3, input 10 being applied selectively through the three clutches K1, K2, K3, respectively, to S1 for reverse; to R1, S2, S3, for the first three reduced ratios and direct-drive; and to C1, C2, R3 for direct-drive and overdrive fifth; whilst the three brakes B1, B2, B3 are applied respectively to R2 for third and fifth; to C1, C2, R3 for first and reverse and to R2 for second. Brake B2 has a parallel one-way brake 44. Eliminating the clutch K3 reduces the number of ratios to four. As shown, the planets P3 of the third-train are fast with planets P4 of an additional twoelement train, the sun S4 of which has an additional brake B4, which, with the clutch K1, gives a further and lowest ratio, making six in all. Ratios are specified and a graphical solution shown. Input and output shafts may be transposed.
