Abstract

1307968 Drainage pouch A E MARSAN 7 Feb 1972 5633/72 Heading A5R A drainage pouch comprises a bag having an inner, body-contacting wall 43, and an outer wall (44), Fig. 1 (not shown), the inner wall 43 having an area 52 which may be cut out to form a drainage opening, and a sealing member 45 of gelatinous adhesive material within the bag and stuck to the inner surface of the inner wall 43 around the drainage opening area 52. The drainage opening area 52 may be defined by a cut out mark. The sealing member 45 has a central opening 60. The inner wall 43 has on its inner surface a release coating 49 over an area slightly larger than the drainage opening area 52, to facilitate removal of the latter. The inner surface of the outer wall (44) has a similar coating (48), Fig. 1 (not shown) over an area at least as large as the sealing member 45, to facilitate separation therefrom. The pouch may be attached to a belt by means of a gasket 56, or (66), Fig. 12 (not shown) embedded in the sealing member 45, or by means of tabs (74), (77), Figs. 16, 17 (not shown) in which are slots (75). The sealing member 45 is moulded in situ on to a single sheet of plastics film which is subsequently folded and heat sealed at 46, 47. The sealing member 45 is a foamed gel preferably made from gelatine, corn starch, corn syrup and glycerine.
