Abstract

A contraceptive sheath 4 is made of preformed synthetic plastics film material by either cutting it from a tube of such material and sealing one end by welding or adhesive or solvent bonding, or by cutting it from a sheet of synthetic plastics material which is folded over, and similarly sealed along one longitudinal edge, and its end. Elastic constricting means may be provided around the open end in the form of an expandible band 5 either bonded directly around the outer wall of the sheath, (Fig. 3, not shown) or by rolling the end of the sheath over the band, Fig. 4. The synthetic plastics may be a polyolefine, polyvinyl or polyvinylidene halide, polyamide, polyurethane, polyester or polycarbonate.
