Abstract

1311471 Expansion joints BAKELITE XYLONITE Ltd 22 April 1970 [24 Jan 1969] 4212/69 Heading E1B A construction includes a deformable cellular thermoplastic material 4 adhesively secured in an uncompressed state between adjacent structural members 1, 2. The material 4 is an expanded olefin polymer, e.g. ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer or polyethylene. The material is coated with adhesive 5 and inserted into gap 3 between members 1, 2. Alternatively, the members 1, 2 are formed against the coated material.
