Abstract

1306597 Coil formers; pot cores STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd 24 July 1970 35964/70 Heading B8M [Also in Division H1] A bobbin for a square modular pot core consists of a tubular body portion 30 having a cheek at each end, one of which cheeks includes two diametrically opposed portions each having, on the side remote from the other cheek, a thickened portion in which terminal pins are fixed, the junction between the raised portion and the rest of the cheek forming a step for locating the bobbin in a pot core; each raised portion includes a tongue 35 extending inwardly to the bore of the body portion 30 and flanked on one side by an open-ended slot 34 which extends through the thickness of the cheek and as far as the bore of the body portion 30, the portion of the cheek on the side of the slot opposite each region of greater thickness including a locating stop. The pot core comprises two halves of ferrite material each including an elongate base from one face of which protrude a central boss and in the region of the ends, two outer portions, the face also including two aligned grooves of width greater than their depth and extending from diametrically opposed sides of the central boss to opposite side edges of the base. In operation, the bobbin is placed with its body portion positioned over the central boss of the pot core and with the tongues 35 located in the grooves in the base of the pot core.
