1304303 Benzamide derivatives RECHERCHES PHARMACEUTIQUE ET SCIENTIFIQUES and OMNIUM CHIMIQUE 19 April 1971 [13 Feb 1970 14 Jan 1971] 21745/71 Heading C2C Novel benzamide derivatives of the formula wherein Z is tert. butylamino, isopropylamino, dimethylaminoethylamino or morpholino, and their acid addition salts with pharmaceutically acceptable organic or mineral acids and their optically active isomers are prepared by amines of the formula HZ with o-, m- or p-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)benzamide, and, if desired, resolving the racemic bases thus obtained, and/or converting them into acid addition salts. o-, m- and p-(2,3-Epoxypropoxy)benzamides are obtained by reacting epichlorohydrin with o-, m- and p-hydroxybenzoic acid. Pharmaceutical compositions, suitable for oral, parenteral or rectal administration, contain the above novel compounds or their acid addition salts together with suitable carriers or diluents. The compounds have # adrenergic blocking activity.
