Abstract

1304152 Yarn guide TEIJIN Ltd 19 April 1971 [20 Feb 1970] 22104/71 Heading DID A broken yarn end is prevented from unravelling from its package 2 under the influence of gravity by a friction member 8. The friction member 8 is associated with a deflection guide 5 so that during normal operation of a drawing machine 7 the yarn is deflected out of contact with friction member 8. Upon yarn breakage the yarn falls onto the friction member and is held thereby. The friction member 8 and deflection member 5 may be relatively movable or mounted on a rotatable plate. The deflection member can be made of titanium porcelain, metal or synthetic resin. The friction member may be made of a material which is the same as or different from the deflection member and may be rubber coated.
