Abstract

1302889 Electric couplings NEIDECKER & CO 16 March 1970 [17 March 1969] 12455/70 Heading H2E A connection device for connecting and distributing telecommunications cables comprises a support frame 7 and at least two connecting members 8a, 8b consisting of bottom parts 9a, 9b and top parts 10a, 10b, the bottom parts being located alongside each other and supported by the frame, the bottom and top parts containing mating contacts which are brought together when the parts are in position, the conductors of an incoming cable 3 and an outgoing cable 4 being connected to the contacts of bottom parts 9a, 9b of a first and second connecting member respectively and the contacts of the corresponding top parts being individually electrically interconnected. As shown bottom parts 9a, 9b comprise insulating housings supported in racks 59, 60 a number of racks being secured together e.g. by soldering (Fig. 4, not shown). The housings hold contacts 11a, 11b one end of each of which is connected to a cable conductor, and the other end mates with a contact 12a, 12b held in insulating housings 70, 72 and 74 of a top part. A cover 13 for the device is secured to the support frame by clip 17. The connection region of the cables are sealed by lead sheaths 24 filled with insulating compound.
