Abstract

1301853 Supply units for shower baths T H HUTCHINSON 11 June 1970 [24 April 1969] 20953/69 Heading A4N [Also in Division F4] A container for liquid to be heated by solar energy, includes a pair of opposed members 1 and 2, Fig. 1, defining an elongate liquid channel 3 having an inlet 34 and outlet 35; one member having an outer surface to be exposed to solar energy which is formed with a ridge or depression extending in the direction of the length of the channel. The container 10 may be constructed from 18 or 24 gauge galvanized, iron sheeting. The width of channel 3 may be ¢ inch to 2 inches or more reducing to substantially zero at seams 4. The width of the container 10 may be 3 feet and its internal height 1 foot, its length may be 8 feet. In another embodiment, the inclined container 10 communicates with a tank 40, which is used for a shower unit, Fig. 5, having a rose 55. A pipe 41 feeds cold water from tank 40 to the container and pipe 42 leads hot water from the container to the tank. Pipes 41, 42 are provided with members 43 for boosters to heat the water with alternative fuel on cloudy days. Opening of a tap 57 when the tank 40 is full and contains hot water from the container, causes hot water to be discharged from the rose and results in replenishment of the tank with cold water.
