Abstract

1301034 Over voltage protection ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 15 May 1970 [16 May 1969] 23569/70 Heading H2H A device for limiting fundamental frequency over voltages in a high voltage A.C. network, comprises a reactor 3, in series with a fast switch 2, shunted across the supply. The switch is normally open. When an over voltage occurs, surge diverter 4 breaks down, and induces a voltage pulse in transformer 7, which causes fast switch 8 to close. A second surge diverter 9 may be shunted across the reactor 3 to prevent over voltages when the reactor 3 is brought into or out of circuit.
