Abstract

1300370 Pipe couplings UPO OSAKEYHTIO 13 Oct 1971 [13 Oct 1970] 47701/71 Heading F2G A pipe joint, which may either be used in a flexible condition, Fig. 1, on in other applications, with the parts telescoped together, Fig. 2, to make a rigid joint, includes a packing ring 3 and an abutting U-section ring 4. In Fig. 2, a wedge ring 5 is inserted into the ring 4 to secure the pipes together. The pipes 15, 16 are of plastics and, instead of stepping socket end 2 outwardly at 7, spigot end 1 may be stepped inwardly to provide flexibility.
