Abstract

1299869 Containers; packages PLASTONA (JOHN WADDINGTON) Ltd 23 March 1970 [18 April 1969] 19827/69 Headings B8C and B8D A thermo-formed or injection-moulded polyethylene or polystyrene open-topped, upwardlydivergent side-walled container 10 for gelantinous feedstuffs, such as jellies or mousse, is provided with a base comprising a continuous or stepped outer annular portion 16, a frustoconical region 18 and an outwardly convex central portion 20 which is manually deflectable inwards of the container to assist in ejection of the contents. The central deflectable portion may remain in the inwardly-concave deflected position or return to its initial position when finger pressure is removed. The upper-end of the container is provided with a ring arrangement 14 to facilitate de-nesting of a plurality of nested containers. Instead of being of frusto conical shape as shown, the container may be of square or other cross-sectional shape and may be a conventional jelly mould design on the side wall.
