Abstract

1299571 Drawer runners INSTRUMENT SYSTEMS CORP 2 Jan 1971 208/71 Heading A4B A drawer 14 is supported at each side by a runner comprising a first track 28 secured to a cabinet 10 and a parallel, second track 24 secured to a drawer side 20, flange plates 36, 44 being respectively secured to the front end of the first track 28 and the rear end of the second track 24 and the plates 36,44 carrying respective rollers 38,46 engaged in the adjacent second and first tracks 24,28 the arrangement being such that at one side of the drawer Fig.5 (not shown) the rollers are a close lateral fit in the tracks and at the other side, Fig.4, the rollers 38,46 have a thickness which permits relative lateral displacement of the first and second tracks 28, 24 to provide a tolerance on the width of a cabinet opening 12 in which the drawer is fitted. Stop portions 48, 50 integral with the second track 24 co-operate with a finger 52 on the plate 36 to limit inward and outward displacement of the drawer. The front end of the second track 24 and the rear end of the first track 28 incline downwardly and rearwardly at 2‹ - 4‹ to ensure that the drawer is self-closing towards the end of its inward travel.
