Abstract

1299548 Fuel storage in gas lighters S T DUPONT 6 Jan 1971 [6 Jan 1970] 674/71 Heading F4F Liquified gas is stored in a chamber 14 of a gas lighter 10 which is separated from the remainder of the reservoir and the outlet feed tube 11 to the burner nozzle by a wall 12 permeable only to the gas phase of the liquefied gas. The wall may sealingly divide the reservoir into two chambers, the one 14 larger than the other 13, as in Fig. 1, or may be constituted by the casings of fuelcontaining microcapsules 18 as in Fig. 2. The tube 11 is calibrated such that when it is opened to the atmosphere the reduced pressure in the reservoir allows the volatile liquid fuel to evaporate, the gas phase penetrating the wall or walls and being fed to the burner for ignition and combustion.
