Abstract
1299432 Telemotor systems HERGA ELECTRIC Ltd 1 Dec 1969 [29 Nov 1968] 26160/72 Divided out of 1299431 Headings F1P and FIX [Also in Division H1] A telemotor system consists of a bi-stable remote control apparatus for displacing a mechanism between first and second positions and maintaining the mechanism stable in either position, the apparatus comprising a master fluid actuator 2 connected to a slave fluid actuator 2<SP>1</SP> by a conduit 34, each said actuator comprising means defining a chamber for containing working fluid, and a member 22 or 22<SP>1</SP> displaceable between first and second positions to change the volume available for said working fluid within said chamber, said member being resiliently biased into a first position when at one side of an intermediate position, Fig.2 (not shown), and into a second position when at the opposite side of said intermediate position, said resilient biasing rendering the member stable in both first and second positions and unstable therebetween, the member 22 of the master actuator being movable in response to external pressure, for example on a button 20 attached to member 22, and the member of the slave actuator being movable in response to changes in the pressure exerted by the working fluid caused by movement of the member of the master actuator. The biasing is caused by resilience of a flexible tubular member connecting the member 22 or 22<SP>1</SP> with a base 4 or 4<SP>1</SP> having a bore 14 or 14<SP>1</SP> and forming part of the chamber defining means. Each actuator includes a spindle 18 or 18<SP>1</SP> which is a loose fit in a sleeve 6 or 6<SP>1</SP> formed in the base 4 or 4<SP>1</SP> to guide the member 22 or 22<SP>1</SP>. In a modified form, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), the master actuator is encased and the member is moved by a switch rocker, the slave member having a conducting strip which, in one position, bridges a pair of electrical contacts, thereby forming a remotely controlled electric switch (see Div.H1). The member of each actuator may comprise a plate spring, Fig. 3 (not shown) which moves by snap action and forms part of the chamber defining means, or a chamber in the form of bellows, Fig.4 (not shown), attached to such a plate spring may be provided. The systems need not be fluid-tight. Specification 1299431 is referred to.
