Abstract

1299158 Locks AUTOMOBILES PEUGEOT and REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT 8 Sept 1970 [28 Oct 1969] 42866/ 70 Heading E2A The latch-bolt operating lever L of a car door has three positions, viz. an open position O, a latching position N, and a locked position V, and it is moved between O and N by a lever 13 and between V and N by a sill button 25 through a rocker 16 pivoted at end 15 of the lever 13 and having a finger 19 sliding in fixed slot 4 and in a slot 26 in the sill-button lever 23. A spring 21 normally holds the mechanism in latching position N. When the lever 13 is moved in direction F, it carries the rocker body leftwards to open the latch which is returned by the spring 21 when the lever is released. Raising the button 25, Fig. 5, rotates the rocker counter clockwise about 15 to place the latch bolt operating lever in locked position V. This is a stable position and it also locks lever 13.
