Abstract

A handle for opening and closing a motor vehicle door is combined with the locking lever mechanism so that successive movement of the lever handle will cause the door latching mechanism to operate. A lever handle assembly comprises a casing (1) which fits into a door. It comprises a button (3) mounted alongside a handle (4) which both pivot about a common axis (5). The button has faces (14, 15) to press against for latching and unlatching lock operations by moving a remote control shaft (10). Initial movement (F1) of the lever handle (4) tail (8) is dead travel until a finger (18) moves to the end of a slot (17) in the button body.
