Abstract

1299083 Lamps JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 23 April 1970 [7 July 1969] 34131/69 Heading F4R [Also in Division E2] A fastening device for securing a warning lamp assembly to a panel comprises a body 11 including a pair of torsion bars 16, 17 on opposite sides of the body and spaced therefrom, a central, outwardly projecting lug 18, 19 on each of the torsion bars the distance between the outer edges of the lugs being greater than the width of a hole in a panel 26 into which the device is to be inserted, and a retaining member 21 engageable with the body 11, the retaining member being engageable with the panel around the hole therein and having a pair of, resilient fingers 24, 25 which extend between the lugs and the body respectively when the member is engaged with the body each finger having a portion which engages one of the lugs respectively to resist disengagement of the body from the retaining member and in use, the body 11 and retaining member 21 are interengaged and the body is inserted through the hole in the panel, the lugs engaging opposite sides of the hole and the torsion bars 16, 17 being twisted to permit the lugs to pass through the hole, the torsion bars then restoring the lugs to their original positions so that the lugs engage the undersurface of the panel and the retaining member engaging the upper surface of the panel so that the lugs and the retaining member secure the body to the panel. The body 11 and the retaining member 21 are made of moulded synthetic resin. The body may have three lamp holders 12 and three curved reflectors 13. The retaining members may have a central lens portion 22.
