Abstract

1299075 Sampling device for microorganism cultures NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 20 May 1970 [25 March 1969 2 April 1969] 15635/69 and 17242/69 Heading C6F A sampling device for micro-organism cultures includes a delivery member and a plastic container 4, Fig.1, and 16, Fig.3, having peninsular compartments 5-7 or 19-21 for the samples, each capable of being sealed off from the remainder of the container by folding, clipping or heat-sealing, so that the sample or the compartment bearing the sample may be removed without interrupting the environmental conditions in the container. The delivery member may consist of a delivery tube 1 and removable cap 2, Fig. 1 (or rupturable cap), Fig.2 (not shown) or a hood 11, Fig.3, having a suction tube 12 and inlet connector 13, which is formed with a threaded skirt 14 for attachment by the sample bottle 15. The container may be fabricated in nylon, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylenepolypropylene laminate, or polystyrene.
