Abstract
1298888 Offshore structures ENTREPRISE D'EQUIPEMENTS MECANIQUES ET HYDRAULIQUES 5 May 1970 [6 May 1969 4 Nov 1969] 21682/70 Heading E1H A mooring buoy 1 is coupled to a vertical pivot 10 on an anchoring bed-plate 2 by a lattice-work boom 4, which is able to pivot about a horizontal axis 7 and thus permit the buoy to move as indicated by phantom lines when tension is applied to a ship's mooring- cable 5. The buoy may have a columnar form and a float at its lower end, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown). Flexible pipes 12, Fig. 4, for transfer of petrol to or from the moored ship may be wound on drums 11 and connected to a pipe 13 by way of a pipe 16 and rotary joints adjacent the bed plate, Figs. 5 and 8 (not shown). Instead of the pipe 16 a vertical extension of the pipe 13 may be carried by a framework on the boom, Fig. 7 (not shown). Each winding drum may be operated by a hydraulic motor, which is fed by a pump driven by oscillation of the buoy, Fig. 9 (not shown). The buoy may be replaced by a barge that is connected to the boom by a universal joint, Figs. 11 and 12 (not shown). The bed plate may be hollow so that it can be raised by floating, Figs. 13 and 14 (not shown). The barge may be furnished with derricks to facilitate raising or lowering of the bed plate and movement of the pipe 12, Figs. 15 and 16 (not shown). The buoy may be replaced by a floating quay, Figs. 17 and 18 (not shown).
