129,768. Dunlop Rubber Co., Macbeth, C., and Hardeman, W. E. June 22, 1918. Bevelling.-Consists in a machine for bevelling the ends of solid rubber tyres in strip form preparatory to such strips being lap-jointed around their foundation bands. Strips A, supported on roller tracks B, C, are bevelled by a disk cutter D driven as shown and adapted to be swung between the tracks B, C and under a guard P against the action of a spring M by a handle N. The tracks'B, C may be inclined so as to assist gravitationally the feed of the strips. An adjustable stop Q, of a shape corresponding to the cut edges of the strips, serves to position these strips and to determine the position for the bevelling of their rear ends. Specification 128,722, [Class 87 (ii), Moulding plastic &c. substances], and 130,116 are referred to.
