Abstract
1297035 1 - Alkyl - 3 - amino - 5 - aryl - #<SP>2</SP>- pyrazolines DAUSSE SA 26 Feb 1970 [26 Feb 1969] 9478/70 Heading C2C Novel 1 - alkyl - 3 - amino - 5 - aryl - #<SP>2</SP>- pyrazolines of the genera] formula wherein Ar is a phenyl radical optionally substituted by one or more substituents selected from halogen atoms and C 1-5 alkyl and C 1-5 alkoxy groups and R is a C 1-5 alkyl group, and acid addition salts thereof are prepared (a) by reaction of a nitrile of the general formula Ar-CH = CH-CN with a hydrazine of the general formula R-NH-NH 2 ; (b) by reaction of a 1-alkyl-3-halo-5-aryl-#<SP>2</SP>-pyrazoline of the general formula wherein X is a halogen atom, with ammonia; and (c) by treatment of a 1-alkyl-3-methylthio- 5- and -#<SP>2</SP>-pyrazoline of the general formula with excess ammonium acetate at 165-170‹ C.; followed optionally by salification of the product. Pharmaceutical compositions having hypertensive, cardiac analeptic, bronchodilating, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activity comprise, as active ingredient, a 1- alkyl - 3 - amino - 5 - aryl - #<SP>2</SP> - pyrazoline of the first general formula above or an acid addition salt thereof, in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient, and may be administered orally, rectally or parenterally.
