Abstract

1297005 Gas burners POTTERTON INTER. NATIONAL Ltd 29 April 1970 [8 May 1969] 23502/69 Heading F4T A multiple array gas burner assembly of the aerated type comprises a plurality of burner units, each unit including a pair of Venturi tubes 8, 9, which tubes are axially aligned and have orifices 6, 7 facing each other, the Venturis leading to mixing chambers 10, 11 respectively and thence to a flame port 12; the units are also provided with a central cut-out portion 5, through which extends a single gas manifold having a tubular body 17 and provided with gas jets 19, each jet being aligned with one Venturi respectively; in use gas being directed into the orifices such that primary air is also drawn into the Venturis, web portions 3, 4 of the units rest in slots provided in a supporting and locating member 24, 26 and 27, the units being retained in position by a rod extending through holes 16 drilled in the units, and also through two brackets 31 provided on the panel 24. The panels 26, 27 are provided with apertures 30 which correspond with the Venturi orifices 6, 7. The burner assembly is particularly for use in gas water-heaters.
