Abstract

1297002 Gear-wheel metering devices PLESSEY CO Ltd 23 March 1970 [8 April 1969] 18035/69 Heading F1F An internally-meshing gear-wheel metering device comprises an internally toothed annulus 1 meshing with a plurality of toothed pinions 6, 7, 8, located in a housing 3 which provides an axial inlet port 12a, b, c and an axial outlet port 13a, b, c on each side of the zone of inter-mesh of each pinion with the annulus, the inlet ports being linked via passages 14 with a common inlet 15, the outlet ports having separate outlets 16a, b, c. The housing has a central spacer 5 providing a circumferential seal with the teeth of the annulus 11 and pinions 6-8, and provides axial sealing the usual manner, and one of the pinions 6 is connected to a driving or driven shaft 11. The machine may be reversed, thus providing a plurality of inlets with a common outlet. The plurality of separate ports may be linked together to provide a number of separate groups. In a modification, Fig.2 (not shown), a pair of co-axial annular gears are provided each meshing with a plurality of toothed pinions.
